Many web-based video services feature their own versions of ecosystems, usage models, and players. Movies bought from iTunes will not play on the Xbox. In the same token, television programs that come from Amazon. This is where UltraViolet comes in. It is a practical system that makes the purchase anywhere, play anywhere pattern doable.
It is supported by the digital optical disc storage format and shifts from physical to digital medium. UV gives consumers transferable rights for movies and television shows regardless of the number of retail sources.
These rights do not expire. The movie or program may be played repeatedly. Internet access is given by services that take part in UV. Majority of them offer free streaming and downloads even as this is not compulsory for the provider. It may happen that videos are recalled especially if the facility studio does not have the appropriate rights.
In this instance, copies that were reproduced may be played although streaming and additional downloading will no longer be possible. In the remote case that the DECE is abolished or ceases its functions, consumers can still play their UltraViolet movies. However, you cannot get new movies using UV rights.
Movie rights of consumers are still available from retailers who sold those movies and copied to other vendors. The end result was that, I generally stopped specifically buying versions with a digital copy so would buy the Blu-Ray only. Also many studios appeared to stop selling the triple play format. I often found it easier to buy films from iTunes direct or more recently using Amazon Video after a good experience with Amazon Prime Video.
I had gone out and bought the DVD version of the film and had stored the Blu-Ray version of the film aiming to sell it at some point. This I never got round to. Receiving the new Planet of the Apes film reminded me that I had Dawn of the Planet of the Apes so tried it out and it worked.
I then decided now I had both discs out to redeem the digital codes. So I started Flixter on the iPad, followed the instructions, which meant searching for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in the Flixter library and entering the redemption code a much simpler process than it was back in I then checked the code for War for the Planet of the Apes. Okay lets read the instructions… it said to go foxredeem. In recent years I have been buying, what the trade call, triple play movies , these sets contain a copy of the film on Blu-Ray, a copy on DVD and a digital copy for your mobile device.
More recently, well since December , I have noticed is that the trend now is to use Ultraviolet. Fix your app please. What it suppose to do It does what I need it to do except it's not letting me download one of my films other then that I like the app. Extremely frustrated Had this app for about a week now and still cannot play any of my own films. Worked great, at first When I first downloaded this "new " version I was glad to see that it worked better than the original.
After about a month of use I found myself having the same issue that I use to have with the original. I would have to bounce back-and-forth between the two hoping that one would work. Half the time neither app is working at the same time.
I even try to download some of the movies or shows to watch offline, but when I go to play them, they don't work. I downloaded 6 episodes of one show in less than 10 minutes. It's a shame that they won't play "offline" when the apps don't work. Thank goodness for Xfinity,Netflix, Cinema now, and other streaming services when my FLixster stops working. Not Opening Downloaded yesterday and just when it shows my movies, it forecloses every time. I am unable to use this app.
Why fix something that ain't broken? All my collection from old app is now gone! FIX IT! LG L3. The idea is ok but cannot play the videos in my library. Not bad, but I agree with the other reviews.
Why is there now a second app to stream or download my digital content? The trailers could be in a higher resolution, but playable. App crashes as soon as it opens. Might be nice, but for now it is just wasting space on my samsung note. Had several movies loaded on Flixter But one error later, and they're all gone Several attempts at using customer support have been useless. Use your streaming code somewhere else. Horrible First app worked just fine.
Now the second app is not letting me watch movies in high Def. What BS. Please change immediately. Some movies won't play , get fobbed off by being told certain movies won't work in UK , any other app which will connect to my uv movies?

The service was set up back in and offered viewers the opportunity to create their own personal film library, which could be streamed like Netflix on a variety of devices as long as you had an internet connection.
